BBA in Sports Management

The Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Sports Management (BBASM) at S-VYASA University offers a dynamic blend of theory and practical experience, preparing you for a thriving career in the sports industry.

Eligibility

  • One Should have completed their higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent with a minimum aggregate score of 50%
  • Note: 5% relaxation is provided for SC/ST category for eligibility of admission
  • Age Limit: there is no age limit for applying to an BBA. However, candidates with education gap of over 3 years may be required to mandatorily take a bridge programme.
  • Work Experience: No specific requirement of relevant work experience in the field, and this this is optional.

Management of Clubs and Franchises in Professional Sports Leagues:

This module provides an insight into how professional sports leagues like the IPL, ISL, Pro Kabaddi League, etc., are planned, designed, marketed, and monetized. It talks about Player Auctions, Team Purses, Branding and Marketing, Fan zones and merchandising, and digital content creation. It also covers rules and regulations for forming teams, salaries and remuneration packages of players and support staff, expenditure and sources of revenue, opportunities, and challenges—the entire Business Model of Franchise Sports Leagues.

Creation and Development of Sports Brands:

This module provides insights into how a Tournament, Team, or an Individual Player can be transformed into a Sports Brand, how it is developed, marketed, and monetized optimally, e.g., Brand Virat Kohli, Brand IPL, or Brand RCB, and an introduction to the Brand Value associated with each.

Sports Event Management:

This module talks about positioning and execution workflow patterns and the various job responsibilities in the successful conduct of a mega sports event such as an IPL, a Mumbai Marathon, or the Olympic Games. It also explores the associated Business Model and Strategies to make such events financially viable.

Sports Facilities Infrastructure Creation and Management:

This module provides an insight into how Sports Infrastructure is planned, created, and successfully administered. From major stadiums like Motera with its 1.25 lakh seating capacity to neighborhood community sports centers or clubs, it explains how they are planned, utilized, managed, and monetized.

Sports Equipment and Apparel Management and Retail:

A glimpse of how the mega sports retailing and merchandising industry, led by giants like Nike, Puma, and Adidas, functions and markets itself.

Long Term Athlete Development Programmes:

An overview of how serious sports coaching programs and player development from the grassroots level are planned, executed as a business, and monetized.

Sports Data Analytics:

An insight into the science behind analyzing sports video and statistical data to predict and enhance sports performance indicators of teams. This module also explores how matchups for individual players are created, strategies are developed, and counters are formulated to optimize chances of consistent sporting success—ultimately translating into financial rewards and increasing Brand Value with each win.
