Bachelor of Physiotherapy
The Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme at S-VYASA Deemed-to-be University prepares students to assess, diagnose and manage movement and functional impairments arising from injury, illness, disability, ageing and lifestyle-related conditions.
Through a competency-based curriculum, practical training and extensive clinical exposure, students develop expertise in therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, movement sciences, functional rehabilitation, pain management and preventive healthcare.
The programme prepares graduates to practise independently or work as part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, sports settings, community healthcare, wellness facilities and specialised clinical environments.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology—or Botany and Zoology—and must have passed English.
- Unreserved and General-EWS candidates: Minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates: Minimum 40% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- PwBD/PwD candidates: Minimum 40% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. English must be passed by candidates of all categories.
- Candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or must complete 17 years on or before 31 December of the year of admission
- Candidates must submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a government medical officer at the time of admission.
Programme Overview
- Total Duration: 5 years — four years of academic study followed by a compulsory one-year rotatory clinical internship.
- Mode of Study: Full-time, non-distance programme.
- Internship: One-year compulsory rotatory clinical internship after successfully completing all academic examinations.
- Medium of Instruction: English.
- Examination Pattern: University examinations are conducted annually, in accordance with the approved academic regulations.
Program Highlights
Comprehensive Curriculum:
Build a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise therapy, electrotherapy and movement sciences, followed by advanced learning across musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, paediatric, sports and community physiotherapy.
Evidence-Based Practice:
Learn to critically evaluate scientific evidence and integrate current research with clinical reasoning, patient assessment and physiotherapy decision-making.
Hands-On Clinical Experience:
Through clinical rotations at Cadabam’s Hospitals, students gain valuable hands-on experience working with diverse patient populations under the guidance of experienced physiotherapists.
Professional Development:
Develop essential professional capabilities in clinical communication, patient and caregiver education, ethical practice, medico-legal awareness, clinical documentation, teamwork and professional accountability.
Multidisciplinary Approach:
Learn to collaborate with doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, speech and language professionals and other members of multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated, patient-centred care.
Contemporary Clinical Competencies:
Build competence in modern physiotherapy assessment, therapeutic techniques, clinical documentation, patient education, assistive approaches and the responsible use of relevant diagnostic and rehabilitation technologies.
Guided Clinical Learning:
Learn under the supervision of qualified faculty members and clinical professionals through demonstrations, practical sessions, case discussions, clinical rotations and structured feedback.
